The Voice Season 22 “Top 8” Vocal Ratings
Almost certainly rigged for Blake Shelton’s final season.

In light of some strange voting results, this week’s Power Rankings will be slightly different. We will be turning back the clock to the Top 8 and exploring every competitor’s individual vocal ratings to prove that this will be the worst “The Voice Grand Finale” of all time.
Note: The following 8 artists were not necessarily the best 8 artists after each round of the competition. Since they were the final 8 contestants, however, we will be analyzing only their performance ratings to see how the voting should have gone from Top 8 to Top 5.
Weekly Performance Ratings
Distinct Winners and Losers
7 rounds of competition, but the pattern was evident after only 2. Omar Jose Cardona, Parijita Bastola, Morgan Miles, Justin Aaron, and Kim Cruse were consistently better than Bodie, Bryce Leatherwood, and Brayden Lape on almost every occasion. The only exceptions were during the Battles, the Top 10, and the Top 8 thanks to some delightful performances by a consistent Bodie and an improving Bryce Leatherwood. And although Brayden Lape was not necessarily the worst vocalist every single round (when considering the unmentioned competitors), he was always the worst among these 8 singers.
The True Top 5
Ultimately, the Top 5 are based on just one performance. Their latest performance. This is bad news for a couple of singers, particularly Bodie and Omar who have been lights-out all competition long. Bodie’s performance was fine, but he was simply outdone by his fellow competitors. Omar’s performance was too soft and too gentle the majority of the time and not in a good way. His voice was drowned out many times before finally breaking free at the end (too little too late).
1. Morgan Myles — Nashville, Tennessee (35)
With arguably the greatest performance of the entire season, Morgan explodes from #4 to #1. She nailed every note and every emotion without compromising her range, vocal control, or breath control. Additionally, her tone was the richest it has sounded all season long. It was on par with Omar’s first two incredible performances which have not been matched by any singer… until now. Morgan Myles is the favorite going into the Grand Finale! Best wishes to her and Camila Cabello!
2. Kim Cruse — Woodville, Texas (30)
Kim is a vocalist through and through. Her voice is rich and versatile, and she very rarely misses a note. A couple of odd notes are the main reason why she falls from #1 to #2, but the credit still goes to Morgan for stepping up in a way nobody could have expected. Unfortunately, Kim will not have a chance to rival Morgan next week because voters wronged her. Kim not being in the finale is borderline criminal. At the very least, it is outrageous! At least John Legend will still have 2 potential winners in the Grand Finale. Right?
3. Bryce Leatherwood — Woodstock, Georgia (22)
Well, this is a shock. Bryce has been very slowly improving throughout the season until finally peaking in the Top 8 and entering the “Top 5 Talents” for the first time this season. His latest performance was surprisingly consistent and showcased a lot of great singing. Combine that with his impressive lower range, and it makes for an incredible performance. In other words, he finally pulled it all together. If there was ever a time to shock viewers, he picked the right one. After seeing the way Americans have voted all season long, all bets are off. He can win this whole thing.
4. Justin Aaron — Junction City, Kansas (34)
Dropping Justin from #2 to #4 feels unfair, but his latest performance was simply worse than his other live performances this season. Luckily, one “bad” week does not define his season. No doubt he will come back stronger next — Oh. America got rid of him too. Gwen Stefani had the hottest team for the past couple of weeks, and now she has nobody. Well then. This is awkward.
5. Parijita Bastola — Severna Park, Maryland (17)
Parijita has had her ups and downs this season. She started off hot, then became inconsistent, and then skyrocketed back to the top before ultimately finishing the season on a low. She is still a Top-5 singer, but things have not always gone her way. What does this mean? It means she is due for a spectacular performance in the Grand Finale next week. Unfortunately, America felt like voting her out too… John Legend has lost another potential winner.
Conclusion
In the end, America managed to put a mere 2 deserving singers in the Top 5. They are Morgan Myles and Bryce Leatherwood. You could argue that Omar Jose Cardona warranted a Top-5 spot as well, but he was teetering on that 5–6 position a lot despite his flawless start to the season. Still, at least there is an argument for Omar being a finalist. The same cannot be said about a certain member of Team Blake whose name will not be mentioned. 😅 Nonetheless, good luck to all the finalists! Vote for Morgan Myles! 👍
The Grand Finale Part 1 kicks off Monday, December 12th. Will it finish in typical disappointing fashion, or will someone deserving win it all?
