Season 21 of “The Voice” is all wrapped up, and what an amazing season it turned out to be! The only thing left to recap is the winner, so this article will mostly summarize all of the celebrity performances. However, the winner will be revealed at the end, so do not scroll too far if do not wish to be spoiled!

Coldplay x BTS — “My Universe”

Chris Martin and the rest of Coldplay joined CGI/Holographic members of BTS in yet another performance of “My Universe.” The song is a bit overplayed at this point (no offense to BTS fans; it is a great song), but it was a nice way to open tonight’s show. 👍

Kelly Clarkson x Hailey Mia — “Funny”

It is always special seeing coaches perform with their students. Kelly Clarkson, being the legend that she is, kind of overshadowed Hailey Mia in the quieter parts of the song, “Funny,” but they both sounded amazing together at full volume. Luckily, the voting is based on last night’s performances. 🙂

Ariana Grande “Auditioning” for Blake Shelton’s Music Video

This scene was actually hilarious. Ariana Grande can usually impersonate other genres and singers to perfection, but Country might just be her kryptonite. Give her a little time, and there is no doubt that she can master the genre. 😅

Walker Hayes — “Fancy Like”

While the show was on the Country theme, breakout artist, Walker Hayes, sang “Fancy Like.” Apparently, this song went viral on TikTok until it eventually caught on with fans of mainstream music. The performance was fun, but it mostly just filled the time. 🤷‍♂️

Blake Shelton x Paris Winningham — “Love Train”

This coach-student duet was a lot more fun, energetic, and memorable than that of Kelly and Hailey from earlier in the show. Paris Winningham always brings the passion and excitement whenever he sings, so this was easily the best team duet of the night so far. Paris even managed to steal the show from Blake, which is a tough thing to do. 😄

Tori Kelly x Keke Palmer — “Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)

Of all the mainstream singers, Tori Kelly is at the top of the list of vocalists who never received enough credit or recognition. Every time she performs, you hope it will be the start of something even more amazing for her. Anyway, she sounded perfect, and Keke Palmer held her own as well. Accompanied by the Top 10 (or so) acts supplying the background vocals, this was a nice rendition to get everybody excited (for Christmas and) to see “Sing 2” in theaters on December 22nd! 👏

John Legend x Jershika Maple — “O Holy Night”

The Christmas spirit continued with a beautiful duet between John Legend and his last remaining student, Jershika Maple. Together, they reminded everybody what Christmas is truly about. And to finally hear Jershika’s upbringing in church choir come to full fruition tonight was an absolute pleasure! She has showed each week that she can sing whatever she wants to, but this is her home. 👼

Ed Sheeran — “Shivers”

Season 21’s Mega Mentor, Ed Sheeran, returned to “The Voice” stage tonight to share a music masterclass of a performance of his viral song, “Shivers.” Vocally, it was not always the best performance, but you cannot take anything away from the guy. The song is brilliant, and he has proven his talent and relevancy time and time for the past decade. The vocals got better by the end anyway, so Carson Daly is right when he says “He’s the best.”

Blake Shelton’s Cologne “Promotion”

This segment may have been even funnier than Ariana’s “Audition” earlier in the show. Seeing Blake Shelton act this silly is very amusing, and he probably broke into laughter after every take. After releasing that parody of typical fragrance advertisements, how can anybody take him seriously ever again? 😂

Jennifer Lopez — “On My Way (Marry Me)”

Following some comedic relief, things got serious again. “On My Way” has to be Jennifer Lopez’s greatest song in quite a while, and she even sounds pretty great singing it. The best part about it is how romantic and optimistic it is for a seemingly silly idea for a movie. Her performance of it was way better at the American Music Awards a few weeks ago, but, either way, go watch “Marry Me” in theaters on Valentine’s Day! The trailer for it is hilarious. 🙃

John Legend x Carrie Underwood — “Hallelujah”

Yes! Keep reminding people why they are celebrating Christmas soon! The world just seems to stop whenever Carrie Underwood sings, and this performance with John Legend was simply beautiful. Chills. Nobody on Earth sounds quite like she does when she sings. Go listen to her latest album if you have not done so already.

Kelly Clarkson x Girl Named Tom — “Leave Before You Love Me”

Kelly Clarkson’s team did not sound very perfect in their duets with her tonight. The whole performance of “Leave Before You Love Me” sounded even sloppier than Kelly’s and Hailey’s performance from earlier. Very quiet, and they even managed to make Kelly sound less than perfect, which should be impossible. Again, it is a good thing the voting was based on last night’s performances because nobody seemed to practice very much for tonight’s performances. It makes sense, though, since everybody went all in last night when it mattered most. Now is just the time to relax and have fun (of course, they are all so nervous about the result coming at the end of the episode).

Blake Shelton x Wendy Moten — “Just A Fool”

One finalist who did not sound like they were nervous about votes was Wendy Moten. Unlike the other crowd favorites, brilliance just comes naturally to her. Maybe her voice did not sound that great alongside Blake Shelton, but it sounded great nonetheless. She continues to show why she is a winner, even when it does not matter.

Alicia Keys — “Old Memories”

Alicia Keys is a vocal and musical legend, and she reminded everybody of that tonight. She just released this new song four days ago, and people are sure to be adding it to their playlists tonight. She is awesome. What more can you say?

John Legend’s New “Acapella Group”

Ed Helms is known for the role he played in “The Office,” and Randall Park is well-known for his roles in a few movies and shows, some of which belonged to the Marvel franchise, so this was always going to be a funny skit. John Legend and Ed Helms fighting for the lead in the group was so funny! Sorry that it did not work in the end, John. Maybe next time. Anyway, Ed’s and Randall’s new series, “True Story,” sounds like a good watch. Check it out on Peacock on January 20th! 😉

Ariana Grande x Kid Cudi — “Just Look Up”

Ariana did not have a contestant left to duet with tonight, but that did not matter because she had an even better song to sing with Kid Cudi. She might not be the greatest coach, but she sure is the greatest vocalist of her generation. For anyone not familiar with the upcoming Netflix film, “Don’t Look Up,” the lyrics probably made no sense, but that it okay. Check out the star-studded movie coming to Netflix on December 24th! It should be an unforgettable collaboration!

Kelly Clarkson’s New “GPS App”

This was probably the least funny of all the coaches’ skits tonight, hence why it was the shortest. The humor seemed forced, but Kelly is naturally funny anyway, so it was still partially amusing.

SEASON 21 RESULTS *SPOILERS*

The following is a list the contestants in the order they finished on the show. Prepare yourselves, because things are about to get crazy!

5th Place: Jershika Maple — Considering how America left Jershika Maple to fend for herself multiple times in recent Instant Save rounds, this result comes as no surprise. That is just how these shows work sometimes, but Jershika has nothing to regret. She was brilliant to watch and hear week in and week out.

4th Place: Hailey Mia — Many viewers actually believed that Hailey Mia would win the entire competition, and they had certainly had good reason to. She was always the most improved vocalist on this show, but it looks like she did not persuade enough neutrals to vote for her. Even if she did, she was just a tiny bit outclassed by Girl Named Tom and Wendy Moten anyway, so this is a rather predictable result for her. As she ages a bit more, and her voice settles in on one consistent sound, her limits will stretch even higher. Look out for her in the coming months and years.

3rd Place: Paris Winningham — Paris Winningham just missed out on Top 2, but he had the most fun out of everybody. He really made a name for himself in this competition, the fans seemed to love his voice and his energy, and he should not have any regrets moving forward. Like Hailey Mia, he just did not have the numbers backing him up in the end. Best of luck to him and his singing career in the future!

1st Place (WINNER): Girl Named Tom — Ever since the Blind Auditions, the battle was always going to be between Girl Named Tom and Wendy Moten. The family trio was always going be a finalist on this show, with or without a coach (and they probably could have won the whole thing without a coach, to be brutally honest). They stood out from all the others, they made incredible song choices when it mattered most, and now they are the first trio ever to win “The Voice.” Kelly Clarkson’s team was incredible since Day 1, and she deserved this win more than any other coach.

That leaves…

2nd Place (RUNNER-UP): Wendy Moten — Wendy Moten could have just as easily won this competition. If there could be a tie, she would have won it alongside Girl Named Tom. At the end of the day, it is just a popularity contest, and the votes are just a symbol of quantity as opposed to quality. She remained on stage as the confetti was falling on Girl Named Tom, and she had every right to do so. She was miles ahead of everybody else in the competition, and she could have reached Top 2 without a coach, with her eyes closed, and perhaps even in her sleep. Ariana Grande was talking to her during all the chaos. She probably whispered in her ear, “You do not need this title. You are better than this show. You are a legend, and your future is so so bright. I have a song, and I could use your voice on it. When are you free to stop by the studio?” 😆

Anyway, that is a wrap for Season 21! Congratulations, Girl Named Tom! Keep singing! Keep performing! 🎊 👏 😄

Well, overall, I think I managed to keep my bias pretty discreet, but Girl Named Tom were my favorites from the beginning. I called out all of their mistakes and did not vote vote for them on certain nights when they gave less than their best, just like I did for every other contestant. To be honest, I really thought Wendy Moten was going to edge them out by the slightest bit, but they did it! Thank you to everyone who followed along with my reviews and results articles during the Live Shows! I really appreciate it! See you in Season 22?
